ICYMI: Taiwo Oyekan’s NGO Distributes Food Items Worth Millions of Naira to Lagos Island Residents
Prominent Council Legislator, Hon. Taiwo Oyekan, through his Non-Governmental Organization, the Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation, distributed food items valued at millions of Naira to 400 residents in the Lagos Island Local Government Area. The distribution event took place at the Eyo Cenotaph in Idumota, Lagos.
Each beneficiary received a package that included 2 kg bags of rice, raw meat, vegetable oil, pepper, tomatoes, loaves of bread, and a crate of eggs.
During the event, Hon. Oyekan emphasized that the Food Bank Initiative aimed to extend support to the vulnerable populations on the Island and beyond. He explained that the Social Welfare Scheme was designed to help mitigate the effects of the removal of the fuel subsidy.
Hon. Oyekan also praised the Federal Government for its provision of relief funds to each state in the federation.
Community leader Mr. Aromire Babatunde Sheu, known as Baboo, expressed his appreciation for the legislator’s socioeconomic intervention efforts during an interview with newsmen.
Speaking further, He said: “Over the years, Hon. Taiwo Oyekan has executed numerous Community Development Projects and Economic Empowerment programmes for the residents irrespective of ethnicity and religious affiliation”.
“This Outreach Is Laudable and Timely. I urged him to continue to do good for humanity”.
An Octogenarian Beneficiary, Alh. Musilimot Olumegbon expressed delight on the Food Items Pack Gift.
“The Almighty God will continue to Guide and Bless Taiye Omooba (Hon. Oyekan). He will never lack anything good”, She Prayed.
A Widow, Mrs. Shakirat Oliyide also hailed Hon. Oyekan’s Philanthropic activities on Lagos Island Local Government and its surbubs.
“Taiwo Oyekan is a Humble, Selfless, Generous and Kind-hearted Individual,” Mrs Oliyide said.
