The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Igbesa, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, was thrown into a frenzy of excitement on Friday, December 26, 2025, as philanthropist and politician, Engr. Temitayo Agemo-Okuboyejo, formally declared her intention to contest for the Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
Agemo-Okuboyejo, an Igbesa-born grassroots politician, made her declaration during the Igbesa PDP Ward Meeting held at Esa Igbe, Igbesa, officially signalling her entry into the National Assembly race under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The meeting commenced with opening remarks by the Igbesa Ward Chairman, Mr. Olusola Aka, who welcomed party leaders, members, and stakeholders, declaring the ward meeting formally open amid cheers from party faithful.

Women Leaders, Party Stakeholders Rally Behind Agemo
In a strong show of solidarity, the Ado-Odo/Ota PDP Woman Leader, Mrs. Bolanle Obalanlege, welcomed the PDP State Chairman and other leaders, while commending Agemo-Okuboyejo’s resilience, courage, and determination to pursue her ambition despite political and structural challenges.
She called on all PDP leaders across the local government to rally behind Agemo-Okuboyejo, stressing that the party must not ignore the sacrifices, loyalty, and commitment of women within its fold.
Similarly, the Igbesa Ward Women Leader, Mrs. Egbeola Elizabeth, expressed gratitude to party leaders for their presence, offered prayers for Agemo-Okuboyejo, and voiced confidence that she would actualise her aspiration.
Adding his voice, Mr. Fashola Waliu, Vice Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota PDP, urged party leaders to throw their full weight behind Agemo-Okuboyejo, describing her ambition as people-centred and progressive.

The PDP State Chairman, Chief Abayomi Tella, who stormed the ward meeting unannounced, described Agemo-Okuboyejo as a deeply rooted and committed PDP member, noting her consistency and loyalty to the party at all levels.

Chief Tella praised her noble character and passion for service, while encouraging her to intensify grassroots engagement as the political season unfolds. He also used the occasion to charge PDP members across Ado-Odo/Ota to remain steadfast and united ahead of the 2027 general elections, which he described as critical for the party’s return to power in Ogun State.
He further commended the people of Igbesa for their unwavering support for both Agemo-Okuboyejo and the PDP, describing her as a woman of virtue whose political journey has always been driven by selfless service to humanity.

Earlier, the Ado-Odo/Ota PDP Collegiate Chairman, Chief Femi Obanla, officially announced Agemo-Okuboyejo’s House of Representatives aspiration to the gathering, calling for total support across all 16 wards of the local government.
Chief Obanla emphasised her credibility, popularity, and extensive philanthropic impact, noting that her generosity and interventions have touched communities across the entire local government area.

In a dramatic moment, members of the Igbesa Ward—particularly women—rose in unison to endorse Agemo-Okuboyejo’s declaration, a move widely interpreted as a reflection of her growing popularity in Igbesa and across Ado-Odo/Ota.
While addressing party members, Agemo-Okuboyejo said her aspiration was driven by a burning desire to serve the people of Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency.
According to her, she seeks to champion people-oriented policies, accelerate human and infrastructural development, and give the constituency a strong, responsive voice at the National Assembly.
She assured party members of her commitment to inclusive representation, grassroots engagement, and developmental legislation if elected.
