INEC Restores David Mark-Led NWC After Supreme Court Judgment

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has restored the names of the National Working Committee (NWC) led by David Mark on its official website, just hours after a decisive Supreme Court judgment.

The move follows the court’s decision setting aside the status quo ante bellum, effectively resetting the leadership structure and paving the way for the reinstatement.

Checks revealed that INEC updated its portal at about 9:30pm on Thursday, confirming the return of the Mark-led leadership.

The development is seen as a major turning point, positioning the reinstated NWC to take full charge of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Among those reinstated alongside Mark are Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, Mani Ibrahim Ahmad as Organising Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary, and Oserheimen Osunbor as National Legal Adviser.

With the updated listing, the restored NWC is now positioned to steer party affairs and coordinate electoral strategies ahead of 2027.

The swift action by INEC underscores the weight of the Supreme Court ruling and signals a new phase in the party’s internal leadership dynamics.
