‘It is like literally him’ – Davido Shares Emotional Reflection on Twin Son’s Striking Resemblance to Late Ifeanyi

Popular Nigerian afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has opened up about the uncanny resemblance between his twin son and his late son, Ifeanyi, describing it as both profound and bittersweet.

The singer shared these heartfelt sentiments during a recent interview on Apple Music 1 with host Ebro Darden.

Davido revealed that the likeness between his twin boy and Ifeanyi, who tragically passed away at age 3 on October 31, 2022, after a drowning incident at the family’s Lagos home, is “scary.”

Ifeanyi was the first child of Davido and his wife, Chioma Rowland. The couple welcomed their twins—a boy and a girl—in October 2023 in the United States, marking a new chapter following their loss.

Davido’s openness about his grief and joy underscores his journey through personal tragedy and the hope brought by his growing family.

However, reflecting on the loss of Ifeanyi, Davido said, “That type of loss made me be like, ‘I’m out’. I am just going to chill, take care of my wife and the family, and get my head right.

“To come back from that and be blessed with twins just shows that God is real. And the boy looks just like my late son. It’s scary. It is like literally him. We are like, ‘No, it’s him. He came back.’”
