In a remarkable display of commitment to infrastructural progress, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, widely known as ‘Yayi,’ has commissioned 24 transformative projects across Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government in Ogun State.

This significant achievement comes as part of his ongoing efforts to enhance the infrastructure of the Ogun West Senatorial District, where he serves as the representative.

Senator Adeola’s time in the National Assembly has left a lasting impact on his constituents. Known for his forward-thinking approach to development, he has spearheaded projects that address the needs of his community in sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

For years, Ado-Odo/Ota had faced challenges with governance-related infrastructure development, a situation that had remained largely unchanged since the start of the current republic in 1999. However, the district has seen a much-needed revitalization since Senator Adeola emerged as their representative in the National Assembly.

In just under a year, Senator Adeola has made strides that have directly impacted local economies, especially in Ado-Odo/Ota, the industrial heart of Ogun State. His rapid push for infrastructure development is visible in the many projects now benefiting local residents.

On January 15, Senator Adeola’s commissioning team began a two-day event, unveiling projects that will accelerate development across the local government. The team, which includes notable figures such as Chief Durojaiye Aiyedogbon, former Commissioner Engr. Layi Taiwo, Hon. Segun Ojolowo, and ex-Ogun lawmaker Baamofin Akinpelu Aina, was present for the commissioning activities.

The first event of the day marked the opening of Section 1 of Ilogbo Road in Ota State Constituency 1. This was followed by the inauguration of the highly anticipated Maltina Road in Sango Ota, a route that has significantly eased commuting challenges for residents and commuters alike.

In a statement, Mr. Fashina Augustine, Chairman of the Agbatan-Ipamesan Community Development Association, expressed deep appreciation for Senator Adeola’s efforts. Describing the senator’s initiatives as unprecedented in the history of Ado-Odo/Ota LG and Ogun West, he highlighted the transformation brought about by the newly improved roads, which have boosted connectivity, safety, and economic activities in the area.

One of the most notable projects unveiled was the commissioning of three newly constructed blocks of classrooms and an ultramodern ICT center at Sango-Ota High School. This project, a monumental addition to the public school system, was met with jubilation as students and teachers gathered to witness the event. The air was filled with chants of “Yayi! Yayi! Yayi!” as the senator’s team entered the school grounds.

Hon. Segun Ojolowo, a key member of the commissioning team, shared Senator Adeola’s vision for the local government and beyond, emphasizing the senator’s commitment to providing every child in the senatorial district with access to quality education in a conducive environment. He also reflected on the initial skepticism expressed by the school’s alumni, who had witnessed many unfulfilled promises from previous leaders. However, he reassured them that Senator Adeola’s promises would be kept—and indeed, the impressive educational infrastructure now stands as a testament to this.

The principal of Sango-Ota High School, Mr. Ajayi Adelanwa, extended his gratitude to both the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his support, and to Senator Adeola for his unwavering dedication to educational development. “This new infrastructure will have a profound, long-lasting impact on our institution,” he stated.

Similarly, Mr. Bimbo Okumodi, Principal of Sango-Ota High School (Junior), expressed appreciation on behalf of the school for the newly commissioned ICT building, highlighting how this will enhance the learning experience for students and strengthen the local community.

Other projects unveiled during the two-day event include newly constructed roads such as Arije Road, Anglican Odo Pako Road, and Itele Road (Sections 1 and 2), High Court Road, Old Iyana Iyesi Road, and Iju-Ebiye Township Road. Additionally, the Yayi team also inaugurated significant infrastructure projects, including an ultramodern Town Hall in Ijoko-Otta, Primary Healthcare Centres in Itele and Iyesi, ultramodern markets including Oba T. T Dada market and Ajibawo market, and the completion of the Iju-Ebiye Township Road, rounding off a day of impactful developments.

Through these projects, Senator Adeola has shown his unwavering dedication to improving the lives of his constituents, fostering growth, and creating a brighter future for the people of Ogun West.
