Muiz Banire has been sacked as the head of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) and was immediately replaced.

President Muhammadu Buhari made the change of leadership of the corporation in a letter to the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday.

According to the letter, Buhari named Edward Adamu as the new chairman for AMCON

He further asked the Senate to confirm Adamu’s nomination.

However, the presidency is yet to give any reason for the sack of Muiz Banire who was appointed head of the bad debt management office in 2018.

Banire’s removal comes just a day after the president failed to renew Tunde Fowler’s appointment as the head of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), despite an appeal from Fowler to be retained for a second term.
