The Appeal Court sitting in Ibadan the Oyo State capital, on Monday upheld the September 14 judgment of the Ogun State governorship election petitions tribunal.
The election tribunal led by Yusuf Halilu had earlier declared Prince Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the March 9 governorship election in Ogun State.
The appeal filed by Hon. Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) was dismissed by the panel of the Appeal Court presided over by Justice Abubakar Yahaya.
The court said the appeal lacks merit, saying it stands by the decision of the lower tribunal.
Akinlade, the preferred candidate of former governor Ibikunle Amosun, lost in the March 9 governorship election in the state.
