Kehinde Adegbodu, the surviving twin brother of late gospel singer Taiwo Adegbodu, has raised alarm following a traumatic armed robbery attack on their family residence.
In a video shared on their official Facebook page, Kehinde revealed that he was away in Osun State when the incident occurred.
He said the attackers stormed the home and confronted his late brother’s wife and children, who were present during the invasion. According to him, the armed men spent over 45 minutes ransacking the house while repeatedly asking for his whereabouts, Taiwo’s room, and other valuables.
Kehinde alleged that the attackers may have targeted the family under the belief that funds raised for Taiwo Adegbodu’s burial—reportedly supported by gospel singer Yinka Ayefele—were still kept in the house.
Recounting the ordeal, he said his wife called him during the incident, terrified as the assailants demanded information about him and searched every corner of the house.
“They were asking, ‘Where is Kehinde? Where is Taiwo’s room? Where is their jewellery and car keys?’ They even said they were there because of me,” he explained.
Kehinde further stated that the robbers carted away clothing, cash, and other valuables, while allegedly speaking to a “boss” on the phone to confirm he was not present.
He suggested that a misunderstanding about the financial support received after his brother’s death may have fueled the attack, insisting that the money had already been used for building a burial site.
He also expressed concern for the safety of his children, noting that they have been living in fear since the incident.
“Please, I don’t have money, and I don’t live a fake life. Even the car we use was gifted,” he said, adding that the family remains shaken by the experience.
