President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday night held a crucial closed-door meeting with Teslim Folarin at his private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos, in what observers describe as a significant political development ahead of future party realignments.
Folarin, a former three-term senator who represented Oyo Central, remains one of the most influential figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State. His enduring relevance in the party has been shaped by a reputation for loyalty, resilience, and strategic political engagement.
Since his appointment as Renewed Hope Ambassador in Oyo State—a role closely tied to the policy direction of Tinubu’s administration—Folarin has played a pivotal role in stabilising the party’s internal structure. He is widely credited with reconciling aggrieved factions within the APC, fostering unity and strengthening trust among party stakeholders.
Party insiders consistently describe him as a bridge-builder whose leadership has helped reposition the APC in Oyo State for stronger cohesion and electoral competitiveness.
Beyond internal reconciliation, Folarin has also intensified efforts to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda across the state, mobilising grassroots support and expanding political networks in preparation for upcoming electoral cycles.
Sources within the party suggest that the meeting with President Tinubu is part of broader consultations aimed at consolidating APC strength nationwide, with particular attention on politically strategic states like Oyo.
Analysts believe the President’s direct engagement with Folarin reflects growing confidence in his political influence and effectiveness. It also signals the administration’s commitment to reinforcing party unity and sustaining momentum for governance advocacy under the Renewed Hope platform.
