Moulud Nabiy: Agemo-Okuboyejo Urges Muslims to Embrace Love, Faith
Temitayo Agemo-Okuboyejo, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, has felicitated Muslims across the constituency on the occasion of this year’s Moulud Nabiy, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Agemo-Okuboyejo, while congratulating the Muslim community, urged the faithful to use the religious celebration as an opportunity to strengthen their commitment to love, peace, tolerance and steadfastness in faith.
She also called on Muslims and other residents of the constituency to translate the values of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) into practical contributions to the development and progress of their communities.
According to her, Moulud Nabiy should go beyond celebration and serve as a period for reflection on the teachings of the Prophet (SAW), particularly his emphasis on compassion, peaceful coexistence, justice and responsibility towards others.
“Moulud Nabiy is a significant occasion for us to reflect on the life, teachings and exemplary character of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). His message of love, compassion, patience and peaceful coexistence remains relevant to our society today,” Agemo-Okuboyejo said.
She urged members of the Muslim community to remain steadfast in their faith while promoting unity and extending love and goodwill to people of other religious backgrounds.
“I encourage our Muslim brothers and sisters to continue to uphold the values of love, tolerance, kindness and faith. These are values that can strengthen our families, communities and our society when we practise them sincerely,” she added.
The PDP candidate also stressed the importance of active participation in community development, urging residents to recognise that choosing credible and responsible leaders is an important part of contributing to the growth of the constituency.
She said political participation should not be limited to election periods, noting that residents have a responsibility to participate actively in decisions that affect their communities and future generations.
“Community development requires the participation of everyone. One of the most important ways we can contribute to the progress of our communities is by exercising our civic responsibility and making informed choices when selecting our leaders. We must support leaders who have the competence, integrity and commitment to serve the people,” she stated.
Agemo-Okuboyejo further called for continued unity and peaceful coexistence among residents of Ado-Odo/Ota, describing peace as essential to sustainable development and economic progress.
She congratulated the Muslim faithful once again on the Moulud Nabiy celebration and prayed for continued peace, prosperity and progress across the Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency and Ogun State.
“On behalf of my family and political associates, I warmly congratulate the entire Muslim community in Ado-Odo/Ota on this blessed occasion. May the celebration bring renewed faith, peace, love and prosperity to our homes and communities. I wish you many more fruitful and joyous celebrations in the years ahead,” Agemo-Okuboyejo said.
