President Bola Tinubu has extended warm birthday greetings to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, former Governor of Abia State and current Senator representing Abia North, as he marks his 65th birthday.

In a statement issued on Monday, April 21, 2025, by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Senator Kalu as a longtime friend, a dedicated patriot, and a leader whose contributions have significantly shaped Nigeria’s political and economic landscape.

Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, the President recalled their shared political journey as members of the 1999 class of governors, highlighting a bond that has endured for over two decades. “Senator Kalu, my friend, is a patriot whose life embodies resilience, generosity, and visionary leadership,” Tinubu said.

The President also commended Kalu’s achievements in the private sector, particularly through his company, Slok Holding, and his ventures in banking and media. He noted that these efforts have generated employment and contributed to strengthening the nation’s private sector.

President Tinubu acknowledged their decades of collaboration and mutual respect, emphasizing their shared dedication to Nigeria’s progress, even when on opposite sides of the political aisle.

“As he celebrates this milestone, I recognize and applaud his role in shaping our nation’s political and economic fabric,” the President stated.
