Prince Taiwo Ajibade Oyekan, the deputy leader of the Lagos Island Local Government, led his team on Sunday, December 8, 2024, to distribute empowerment slots to widows, elderly persons, traders, artisans, technicians, and the physically challenged.

The Taiwo Oyekan Mega Plus Economic Empowerment Program, with a budget of twenty million naira (N20,000,000), was established to support the residents of Lagos Island and surrounding areas in response to the ongoing economic challenges facing the country.
It was gathered that the distribution of empowerment slots to vulnerable residents across the Lagos Island Local Government Area and beyond aimed to identify truly indigent individuals.
The slots were distributed in various communities, including Isale-Eko, Olowogbowo, and Okoo Faji among others.
Beneficiaries of the empowerment slots praised Hon. Oyekan, describing his efforts as a selfless service to humanity, and encouraged him to continue his good work.
The economic empowerment scheme, which prioritizes the community, includes the disbursement of twenty million naira to residents, the distribution of bags of rice and filled gas cylinders, and the presentation of a patrol vehicle to the Nigeria Police Force. Read More
