The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday morning confirmed one death from complications of coronavirus and 10 new cases.

The Centre broke the news via its tweeter handle.

In the new cases announced on, six were confirmed in Lagos, while the federal capital territory and Edo recorded two cases each.

As of 11:30 am on April 5, 2020, Nigeria had recorded 224 cases of coronavirus infections. “Ten new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 6 in Lagos, 2 in FCT and 2 in Edo. As at 11:15 am 5th April there are 224 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Twenty-seven have been discharged with five deaths,” the Centre stated in its tweet
