News Central emerged as one of the standout winners at the second edition of the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards (BON Awards), securing multiple recognitions in a highly competitive field that celebrates excellence in Nigerian media.

Organised by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), the 2026 edition of the awards brought together leading voices in the broadcasting industry at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja on Wednesday, April 8, honouring outstanding achievements in journalism, production, and presentation.

The station earned nominations across several categories, including Best Television Station in Original Production, Best Television Production in Documentary or Feature, and Best Television Show—reflecting its growing influence in innovative storytelling and quality programming.

Among the night’s biggest winners, Dapo Adegboye of Politics HQ was named Presenter of the Year, while Babatunde Koiki of Game On secured the award for Best TV Station in Original Production in Business/Drama/Sports.

Other members of the News Central team also received recognition, with Dashen Hussaina Usman nominated for News Caster of the Year and Blessings Mosugu shortlisted in the Presenter of the Year category.
