2027: ‘Opposition Coalition Is Real, Not a Joke – Atiku Vows to Unveil Powerful Opposition Force

Former Vice President 2027 and presidential hopeful, Atiku Abubakar, has declared that a robust and credible opposition coalition is in the works—and it will be unveiled soon.

Speaking during a high-level meeting on Monday with prominent stakeholders from Kannywood and key northern opinion leaders, Atiku described the emerging alliance as a serious, strategic movement aimed at rescuing Nigeria from what he termed failed leadership.

“The opposition coalition is not a joke. It is real, and it will be unveiled soon,” Atiku said confidently.

The visiting delegation, led by Zamfara political figure Dr. Aslam Aliyu—convener of the PAA 2027 New Media & Digital Communications Forum—consisted of influential northern voices, including Kannywood actors and members of the elite Zamfara Top 10. The group is playing a central role in mobilizing new media forces across the North West to rally support for the anticipated opposition front.

According to Atiku, the coalition is “more than just a political arrangement” but a “deliberate movement to recover and rebuild Nigeria in line with the genuine yearnings and aspirations of its people.”

He stressed that the 2027 elections must not repeat the mistakes of 2023, which the delegation described as a wake-up call. “I assured the forum that 2027 will not be business as usual,” Atiku said.

Members of the delegation reportedly admitted past support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu’s 2023 bid—support they now regret. They bluntly described the resulting leadership as “incompetent and clueless” and vowed to rally behind the new opposition effort.

Atiku praised their honesty and said their resolve further energizes the coalition’s mission. “I charged them to take their commitment seriously and enlighten the people on the need to embrace the ongoing efforts to recover and rebuild Nigeria for the good of the majority,” he stated.

While acknowledging the deepening national crises—ranging from worsening insecurity to economic despair—Atiku maintained that the incoming opposition alliance has both the vision and the capacity to address the issues plaguing the nation.

The meeting signals growing momentum among digital political influencers and Northern political actors coalescing around a united front to challenge the current administration and present a formidable alternative in 2027. Read More

Apology and Correction: Misquote in Our Report on LarryBash’s 2027 House of Representatives Declaration

The LarryBash Media Team

We sincerely appreciate your correspondence and your commendation of our report on the media parley held with High Chief Lanre Bashorun (LARRYBASH) on June 22, 2025, at your secretariat in Ota, Ogun State.

Upon review of your clarification, we acknowledge and deeply regret the inadvertent misquote in our earlier publication, which inaccurately suggested that LARRYBASH claimed personal facilitation of key infrastructure projects such as the Nigeria Immigration Passport Office, a new Police Divisional Headquarters, and the 40-bed health centre in Ota.

We recognize that during the session, LARRYBASH emphasized the power of social capital and how His Majesty, the Olota of Ota, Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Obalanlege, Lanlege Ekun II, had remarkably leveraged his influence—particularly through the office of the SDGs led by Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire—to attract these developments to the community.

The error in attribution was unintentional and is highly regretted. A correction has since been made to reflect the accurate context of LARRYBASH’s statement. We appreciate your gracious understanding that the discrepancy was not an act of mischief but a human error in reporting.

We remain committed to responsible journalism and to accurately representing all stakeholders in our reports. Thank you once again for your engagement and the opportunity to correct the record.

Sincerely,
Editorial Team

2024: Dangote pays N502.6 billion to Cement Shareholders as Dividends, Spends N13.19 billion on CSR

Shareholders of Dangote Cement on Monday were full of praise for the Board, Managemnt, and staff of the company after approving a dividend payout of N502.6 billion, which translates to N30 kobo per share at the 2024 Annual General Meeting, held in Lagos on Monday.

In the same vein, the company also significantly increased its social investments by 469.8 per cent to N13.2 billion. The corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities were in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.

President of the Association for the Advancement of Rights of Nigerian Shareholders (AARNS), Faruk Umar, said the shareholders were pleased with Aliko Dangote and his team. He said, for the company to still pay a robust dividend despite the obvious economic challenges, which also affected their operations, shows the doggedness and fighting entrepreneurial spirit of the Management.

According to him, “We are happy with this result. 2024 was very challenging due to the fluctuations in the foreign exchange market and the company’s expansion programme. But despite all these challenges, the company was still able to pay us a very good dividend and even gave us hope of better returns on our investments in the years to come. This is very commendable, and it is only a company like Dangote Cement that can achieve this laudable feat.”

Chairperson of the Pragmatic Shareholders Association of Nigeria, Mrs. Bisi Bakare, also commended the company’s consistent dividend payment, noting that the Company is moving in the best way of corporate governance. “As a shareholder and an acute investor of this company, I am very happy and pleased with the performance of our company so far. The earnings are not even up to N30 per share, and for the company to still declare N30 per share dividend speaks volumes of the quality of leadership that we are lucky to have in Dangote Cement…It should also be noted that Dangote Cement is the only manufacturing company that paid the highest dividend in the year under review. So, we are happy and very proud to be part of this company.”

Chairman of the company, Aliko Dangote, while presenting the reports to the shareholders, said the company’s strategy in every country of operation is to be the leader in cost, quality, and service. He said the company builds large, modern, highly efficient plants that combine the latest equipment from Europe, China, and beyond to enable it to make higher-quality cement at lower costs, thereby giving it strong competitive advantages.

According to him: “We achieved a N3,580.6 billion revenues, representing a 62.2 per cent year-on-year growth, driven by effective pricing strategies and strong demand recovery in key markets, particularly Nigeria. Group EBITDA reached an all-time milestone of N1,382.0 billion, crossing the N1 trillion mark for the first time.”

Dangote further revealed that the company is set to commission a 3MTA grinding plant in Cote D’Ivoire, this year, as well as a 6MTA integrated plant in Itori, Ogun State. He said another major milestone was the acquisition of 1,500 compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks to replace diesel-fueled vehicles, thereby contributing to both cost savings and environmental impact. Plans, according to him, are underway to double the fleet to 3,000 trucks. Read More

2027: Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency Deserves a Complete Turnaround, Says APC Rep Aspirant, LarryBash

Outline vision, promises real change…

Ota, Ogun State – High Chief Lanre Bashorun, widely known as LarryBash, has declared his intention to run for the House of Representatives seat representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in 2027, citing the urgent need for a “massive social welfare and infrastructural development turnaround” in the constituency.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ado-Odo/Ota Online Chapel, to his ancestral home in Okede, Ota, the Seriki of Ottaland passionately laid out his vision for the constituency and why he has chosen to enter the race.

“Ado-Odo/Ota deserves more than just laws that never see the light of day,” LarryBash asserted. “Representation must be about the people — about touching lives directly, solving real problems and bridging the communication gap between leaders and the grassroots.”

He emphasised that his candidacy is not based on personal ambition, but on a collective call from constituents who have seen his longstanding commitment to service.

“It was my efforts and selfless service to humanity without holding any political or public office that prompted the people of Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency to ask me to represent them at the National Assembly. So my aspiration was the calling of the people,” he stated.

The APC aspirant outlined his extensive social intervention record under the LarryBash Movement, a platform he said has quietly transformed lives since 2017. “We have tackled drug abuse among youths, rehabilitated some, supported the aged with medical care, paid hospital bills, and provided food supplies to the vulnerable across the constituency. These are not just claims—people are out there to confirm them,” he noted.

In the area of education, LarryBash said his scholarship scheme cuts across both public and private schools. “In fact, we offer more scholarships to students of private schools than public ones. Every child deserves quality education, no matter their background,” he stressed.

With a rich cultural lineage as Seriki of Ottaland and a wide network of political and social influence, LarryBash pledged to use his connections to draw in meaningful development.

LarryBash, APC Federeral House of Representatives Aspirants

LarryBash underscored the significance of social capital and strategic networks in driving community development. He commended the Olota of Ota, His Majesty Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege, Lanlege Ekun II, for effectively leveraging his influence and relationships, without necessarily being present in the corridors of political power, to attract critical infrastructure projects to Ota. These include the construction of mini stadiums, an immigration passport office, a police station, a 40-bed health centre, and other community-enhancing initiatives. LarryBash acknowledged the monarch’s pivotal role in both conceptualising and executing these developmental strides.

He further recalled how he deployed his social network and capacity when Olota tasked him with facilitating the revival and implementation of the bill for a nursing school initially introduced by Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele during his tenure in office. According to LarryBash, without holding a political office, he engaged with key stakeholders, convened high-level meetings, and pushed for the project’s reconsideration up to the presidency. He noted the vital support received from prominent personalities including Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and Mrs. Lola Otegbola, daughter of the late Senator Ayodeji Otegbola, in advancing the cause.

On infrastructure, he didn’t mince words: “I’ve drawn media attention to the lingering road crisis in Ado-Odo/Ota. If elected, fixing our roads and improving connectivity will be one of my top priorities. This is more than a campaign—it’s a mission.”

LarryBash also expressed his commitment to harnessing the vast human potential of the constituency. “We are blessed with intelligent and capable young people. Unfortunately, many of their achievements remain unrecognized. My mission is to spotlight and empower them for broader community development.”

With eyes set on 2027, LarryBash concluded with a bold declaration: “Being a lawmaker is not about occupying a seat; it’s about making a difference. I’m ready to serve not because I want power, but because my people have called me to represent them in the National Assembly.” Read More

Olota Inaugurates Planning Committee for 2025 Iganmode Festival, Appoints Prince Obasanya as Chairman

In a move to kickstart preparations for one of Nigeria’s most culturally vibrant celebrations, His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, the Olota of Otta and paramount ruler of Aworiland, has inaugurated the Central Planning Committee for the 2025 Iganmode Cultural Festival.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Olota’s Palace, Enu Owa, Ipeti Royal Square in Otta, and marked the official commencement of activities towards what is expected to be a landmark edition of the revered festival.

Oba Obalanlege, a respected monarch and distinguished academic, has been at the forefront of championing cultural revival and heritage preservation across Aworiland. Under his leadership, the Iganmode Cultural Festival has expanded in scope and repute, attracting both national and international attention.

“The Iganmode Festival is not just an event—it is a cultural movement that celebrates our identity, pride, and unity,” the Olota remarked during the inauguration. “Let us rise above political and religious differences to make 2025 a year of cultural elevation for all Awori sons and daughters.”

The 2025 edition holds special significance as it coincides with Odun Egungun, one of the most revered ancestral masquerade festivals globally. The fusion of these two cultural giants is expected to deliver a grand spectacle of rituals, chants, traditional regalia, and cultural pageantry.

Prince Rasaki Obasanya was named Chairman of the newly inaugurated Central Planning Committee. A veteran maritime expert and committed community leader, Prince Obasanya is well-known for his previous contributions to both the Iganmode Festival and Ita Oba Day.

2027: Atiku, Amaechi, El-Rufai, Obi Lead Breakaway Bloc, Float New Party ‘All Democratic Alliance, ADA’

2027: Atiku, Amaechi, El-Rufai, Obi Lead Breakaway Bloc, Float New Party ‘All Democratic Alliance, ADA’

In a major political realignment ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, prominent opposition figures including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai have abandoned ongoing coalition talks with existing parties and filed an application with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register a new political party — the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).

The move, led by the Nigeria National Coalition Group (NNCG), marks the official departure from earlier flirtations with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The newly proposed party, ADA, has named former Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Chairman, Chief Akin Anderson Rickets, as its protem national chairman. Other big political names reportedly aligned with ADA include Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Governors Aminu Tambuwal and Rauf Aregbesola, ex-APC national chairman John Oyegun, former Justice Minister Abubakar Malami, Babachir Lawal, Uche Secondus, Osita Chidoka, and former lawmaker Nnenna Ukeje.

According to a letter submitted alongside the application, Rickets stated:

“We respectfully write to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, requesting the registration of our association, the All Democratic Alliance, ADA, as a political party.

This is sequel to the decision taken by the Nigerian National Coalition Group to sponsor our association for full registration. The name of the party shall be All Democratic Alliance with ADA as our acronym and ‘Justice for All’ as our slogan.”

He added that the group has also submitted its party logo, manifesto, and constitution in line with legal requirements, describing ADA’s ideology as rooted in democratic principles, justice, and national renewal.

“This development is a bold response to the loud yearning by Nigerians for a credible third force,” said Dr. Umar Ardo, Secretary of ADA’s Platform Committee and former aide to Atiku Abubakar.

The NNCG said the decision to transform into a political party was finalized at a meeting held Thursday in Abuja. The group approved the ADA constitution, logo, and manifesto, and appointed Abdullahi Musa Elayo, a former member of the House of Representatives from Nasarawa State, as protem national secretary.

With their registration request now before INEC, ADA’s interim leadership is moving quickly to operationalize the new platform by opening a national secretariat, setting up offices, creating a party bank account, and mobilizing support across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

However, the move has been met with skepticism and criticism from some quarters. Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, dismissed the formation of ADA as “an unnecessary hype.”

“This is just a simple application for party registration. There is nothing like a ‘coalition’ here,” Keyamo wrote on X.
“It is just a psychological warfare on Nigerians – a weak attempt at mass appeal… If they are thinking of recreating what the APC did in 2013, then this is nothing but a pedestrian joke; a complete mockery of that seismic political coalition that birthed APC.”

Keyamo added that the application lacked the depth and legitimacy of a true political merger:

“A few individuals exercising their constitutional right to form a new political party cannot be described as a ‘coalition’ or even a ‘merger’. This is no different from several political associations springing up every day.”

Despite the criticism, supporters of ADA insist that the party represents a fresh opportunity for Nigerians disillusioned with both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the embattled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which continues to suffer from internal divisions and leadership crises.

The group’s backers hope to position ADA as a formidable alternative that could reshape the political landscape in 2027 by uniting disenchanted voters and political heavyweights under a common banner. Whether the ADA will gain INEC’s approval remains to be seen, but for now, the application signals the formal beginning of what could be a high-stakes political journey.

“Emmanuella Is My Only Wife” – KWAM1 Breaks Silence on Marriage Crash Rumours, Denies New Wife Allegations

“Emmanuella Is My Only Wife” – KWAM1 Breaks Silence on Marriage Crash Rumours, Denies New Wife Allegations

Legendary Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM1 or K1 De Ultimate, has dismissed widespread rumours suggesting a breakdown in his marriage to wife Emmanuella Ropo.

In an exclusive interview with blogger Stella Dimokokorkus, the 68-year-old music icon described the reports as misleading and emphasized that Emmanuella remains his only wife.

Responding to questions about an alleged rift in his marriage, KWAM1 was direct, “Stella, it is very brief. I do not have any problem with Emmanuella,” he said. “The only problem in a relationship is kind of maybe what rules you are trying to put up. You understand?”

The singer attributed the growing speculation to his recent withdrawal from the spotlight to focus on a massive construction project.

“I am busy with construction of my resort, it is huge. I went to hide my head so that I could concentrate and not have anything diverting my attention,” KWAM1 revealed. “I told my wife to take all things easy, face business; leave social media.”

Wasiu Ayinde and Emmanuella Ropo Marshal

When asked to clarify if Emmanuella was indeed his only wife, the Fuji maestro responded affirmatively, “Yes, Emmanuella… she is the only one. I told her leave social media, concentrate on your business and let me concentrate, in the end the joy will be for us.”

The veteran musician acknowledged that Emmanuella might not have been pleased with his approach, but stood by his decision, adding that maturity and focus should take priority at this stage of their lives.

“She has every right to her own reaction. Unfortunately, I am not getting younger anymore. I am 68 already. Do I need to fool myself?” he stated, citing the importance of family and legacy over online drama.

Addressing claims that his wife’s alleged jealousy over other women was causing tension, KWAM1 offered a philosophical take, saying, “It is a natural thing to say a woman is jealous, or isn’t it?”

He also firmly denied any intention to take a new wife, insisting his focus lies squarely on business and personal growth.

“I don’t have any intentions. What is ahead of me is huge than to be considering just marriage, marriage, marriage!” he emphasized. “I am now into business big time aside music… I’m getting old, 68, so you can’t say you will be there forever.”

Reacting to viral footage of a woman dancing at his performance—rumoured to be his new wife—KWAM1 was swift in shutting down the claim.

“I can imagine how she must feel embarrassed to be tagged as my wife… Must I marry everyone? The lady is not my wife and I have not married a new wife,” he clarified.

On a final note, KWAM1 reiterated his desire to stay out of social media conflicts and set the record straight for good, “I don’t have time for squabbles on social media regarding women or something. No, I can’t lie to you. And I want to guarantee you I am not going to speak to anyone else on this.”

With this, KWAM1 hopes to put the rumours to rest and redirect public focus to his expanding business interests and legacy-building efforts. Read More

EFCC Arraigns Port Harcourt Doctor for Alleged N39m Visa Scam

EFCC Arraigns Port Harcourt Doctor for Alleged N39m Visa Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned a Port Harcourt-based medical doctor, Dr. Nekabari Nathan, for allegedly defrauding a client of over N39 million under the guise of facilitating international travel visas and employment.

Dr. Nathan was brought before Justice Pat Ajoku of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday, alongside his company, Global Horizons Academy Ltd.

The EFCC charged the defendants with one count of obtaining money under false pretence, in violation of Section 1(1)(a) and punishable under Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act.

According to a statement released by EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the accused allegedly received N39.1 million from Judge Toojah Iyieagbu, Managing Director of Riskout Consults, between 8 April and 12 December 2023.

The funds were purportedly meant to secure travel visas and job placements in Canada, Ireland, and the United States for several individuals, but the promises were never fulfilled.

Dr. Nathan, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge during his arraignment.

Following his plea, prosecuting counsel A. Abubakar requested the court to remand the defendant in custody and schedule a date for the commencement of trial.

On the other hand, defence counsel Friday Otanjah appealed to the court to grant his client bail, citing medical reasons.

Justice Ajoku is expected to rule on the bail application and set a trial date in due course.

The EFCC reiterated its commitment to holding individuals accountable for fraudulent schemes, especially those that exploit citizens seeking legitimate opportunities abroad. Read More

2027: Opposition Coalition Names Zonal Leaders as David Mark, Aregbesola Take Commanding Roles

Internal deliberations are reportedly still ongoing over whether the coalition will adopt an existing political party or proceed to register a new one to contest the elections

2027: Opposition Coalition Names Zonal Leaders as David Mark, Aregbesola Take Commanding Roles

As momentum builds ahead of the 2027 general elections, Nigeria’s leading opposition coalition has begun strengthening its nationwide political infrastructure by appointing high-profile leaders to head zonal operations across the country.

Sources close to the coalition revealed that the movement has tapped seasoned political heavyweights—including former Senate President David Mark and former Osun State Governor and ex-Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola—to anchor its strategic positioning in Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

“This is not just a symbolic move; it’s a calculated step to ensure grassroots mobilization and national cohesion,” a source familiar with the internal workings of the group disclosed.
“These are tested leaders with deep networks in their respective regions. Their appointment sends a strong message that the coalition is serious about 2027.”

The coalition, which comprises prominent opposition figures, civil society leaders, and youth-led advocacy groups, is expected to unveil its political platform next week—a long-awaited announcement that could redefine Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the next general election.

Internal deliberations are reportedly still ongoing over whether the coalition will adopt an existing political party or proceed to register a new one to contest the elections. However, insiders say a final decision is imminent.

“We’re at the final stage. The party platform will be unveiled very soon,” the source added. “What’s more important now is that the coalition has started moving beyond talk—this is a tactical deployment of leadership to build real structures across the zones.”

While the identities of all the newly appointed zonal coordinators are yet to be officially disclosed, David Mark is expected to lead affairs in the North-Central, while Rauf Aregbesola is reportedly in line to coordinate the Southwest zone.

Political observers see the involvement of such high-level figures as a signal that the coalition intends to present a serious challenge to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other dominant forces in 2027.

Ex-Senate President David Mark

A political analyst commenting on the development said: “With David Mark and Aregbesola involved, it’s no longer a fringe movement. This is shaping up to be a major opposition force with capacity, credibility, and national reach.”

Former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola

The coalition’s strategic rollout comes amid growing dissatisfaction across various segments of the population over economic hardship, insecurity, and governance gaps. Many see the group’s emergence as a potential alternative capable of reshaping the nation’s political trajectory.

As Nigerians turn their gaze toward 2027, the coalition’s next moves—especially the unveiling of its platform and full leadership structure—are expected to dominate the political conversation in the coming weeks. Read More
