NISMCAA 9th Edition Set to Hold February 13 at UNILAG
The National Inter-School Music Competition and Academic Award (NISMCAA) is all set for its 9th edition, scheduled for February 13 at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in Akoka, Lagos State.
This announcement was made after all participating schools met the contest requirements. Notable individuals from the music industry and academics have been selected as judges for the competition.
This year’s theme, “Music for Social Change,” was carefully selected to reflect NISMCAA’s core mission — using music as a catalyst for positive change and raising awareness of important social issues.
The theme encourages young musicians to harness their talents to promote empathy and understanding, shedding light on critical societal challenges.
In a recent interview with newsmen, the CEO and founder of the project, Mr Sola Adebowale popularly known as Mc Confess, expressed excitement about the upcoming event. He described the competition as a carefully curated edition set to be filled with captivating performances, where contestants are set to showcase their musical prowess in a bid to outshine each other for glory.
Further elaborating on NISMCAA’s mission, Mr Adebowale during the press briefing stated that; “Through the theme of this year’s edition, we aim to inspire young musicians to use their art to promote empathy, raise awareness on key social issues, and drive action towards creating a more just and equal society.”
He added, “We believe these young changemakers have the power to influence others and help build a better future for all by leveraging the universal power of music.”
In his closing remarks, he emphasized the transformative potential of music: “Music can be a powerful tool for positive change, empowering youth to actively contribute to social progress.” Read More
