 Abia Warriors hammered the former Champions Kano Pillars four goals to one, in Okigwe in one of the eight Week 15 matches played today across deferent centres in the country.
It would be recalled that Abia Warriors’ Coach Imama Amakpakabo was issued an ultimatum to win some matches or be booted out of team before the beginning of the season, but the fortune of the team has risen drastically in the last few matches as they have been able to amass thirteen points out of a possible fifteen in five matches, the win has catapulted Abia from the twelfth to ninth position on the log table.
Despite the loss, the Sai Mesu Gida, Kano Pillars are third on the log, three points behind Rangers in second. The flying antelope won their match one-nill at home against the bottom team Adamawa United.
Meanwhile, Kwara United remain first on the table despite playing out an unexpected goalless draw against Heartland FC. Kwara Utd are on twenty-seven points, the same point as Rangers in second
In other matches, Dakkada FC beat Katsina United one nill, FC IfeanyiUbah drew goalless with the pride of Rivers, Rivers United, Wikki Tourists triumph over Warri Wolves one-nill, Lobi Stars beat Plateau United three goals to two
The game between Sunshine Stars and Nassarawa United was suspended at half time when the scores stood at nil-nil, the Referees alleged they were been threatened by some weapons-brandishing Hoodlums when going to the changing room at half time. The game resumes from the second half tomorrow at 8am
The two remaining matches were postponed, Jigawa Golden Stars versus Akwa United postponed due to the involvement of Akwa team bus in an accident on their way to Kaduna to honour the match and MFMÂ against Enyimba was postponed to give Enyimba ample time to honour their match day two CAF Confederation Cup engagement with Orlando Pirates in South Africa.
