NSE Ota Branch Partners with Ado-Odo/Ota LG to Drive Development
The Ota Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has initiated a strategic partnership with the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, aiming to foster collaborative development and community advancement.
Led by Branch Chairman Dr. Edita Alagbe, a delegation of NSE executives visited the local government headquarters to discuss areas of mutual interest, including capacity building, grassroots engineering support, and the completion of ongoing infrastructure projects.
During the visit, the NSE outlined its previous contributions to the local community, such as road construction, provision of school uniforms, student first aid training, and scholarship programs.
The team sought government support to resume work on the stalled Papa Aro road project and unveiled plans for new initiatives, including a Food Safety Campaign slated for June and mentorship programs for young people.
One of the key proposals presented was a hands-on physics training session featuring a traffic light system project for students. This event is scheduled for May 22, 2025, at Covenant University.
Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Lawal, FCA, praised the NSE for its positive impact on education and infrastructure. He expressed strong interest in collaborating on the proposed initiatives and highlighted the role of strategic partnerships in sustaining the area’s status as a leading industrial hub.
Hon. Lawal encouraged the NSE to formalize its proposals for official review, affirming the local government’s commitment to joint development efforts that enhance infrastructure and public services.
The visit concluded with a mutual agreement to pursue collaborative projects for the benefit of the Ado-Odo/Ota community. Read More
