Otunba Gbenga Daniel, FNSE, FAEng., – widely known with popular acronym OGD-  currently serves as the senator representing Ogun East. Prior to this role, he held the prestigious position of the two-term governor of Ogun State. Recently, OGD expressed his heartfelt tribute to the 2003 governorship elections, a time that was filled with remarkable events and intense political activities.

During the 2003 elections, the political landscape brimmed with the presence of numerous influential figures, including the revered Alhaji Sule Onabiyi, fondly referred to as “Baba Adini.” OGD recalls the leadership and guidance provided by Alhaji Onabiyi and other significant personalities throughout those years, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the state’s development.

The news of Alhaji Onabiyi’s passing has brought immense sorrow to OGD, his family, and his associates. In this challenging moment, Senator Daniel extends his deepest condolences and offers prayers for the peaceful repose of Alhaji Sule Onabiyi’s soul.

“May he find eternal rest with his Maker, and may his legacy live on.

“As the dark cloud eclipses the last of the Musketeers, I can only remember with fond memories the leadership provided by Alhaji Onabiyi and others in those years. My family and I will miss him with great pain as I pray for his repose to find eternal rest with his Maker.
