A popular grassroots young politician in the Ijoko-Otta area of Ado-Odo/Ota LG, Ogun State, Okunade Olamide, has expressed his interest to serve the people of his constituency by contesting for a seat as a lawmaker in the state house of assembly come 2023.
Olamide who announced his intention during a visit to the palace of Onijoko of Ijoko-Otta, Oba Fatai Alani Matanmi over his house of assembly membership aspiration disclosed that one of his core priorities was “to mobilize youth into politics to take leadership positions.”
The revered Ijoko-Otta monarch, alongside other stakeholders including the crown prince of the ancient town, Aremo Olufunsho Matanmi and the Araba of Ijoko-Otta, Chief Sunday Amaku received the young politician.
Speaking further during the interactive section with the royal father and other eminent personalities at the palace, Olamide disclosed that part of his core vision and mission if given the opportunity to serve is; “To develop political leaders and ideas that focus on public service and national interest with a commitment to high standards of integrity and capacity to deliver dividends of democracy.
And “To develop an egalitarian society to facilitating the provision of social amenities particularly quality basic education and universal health care.”
In response, Oba Matanmi applauded Olamide’s bold step adding that his desire to represent the people of his constituency can only be achieved through honesty and hard work. He stated further that what the Onijoko-in-Council craves mostly for is the human and physical development of Ijoko-Otta and the constituency at large.
Also speaking, Chief Amaku, hailed and encouraged Olamide to consult further and work harder to make his dream becomes reality.
Olamide who is also addressed as H0² by his supporters is aspiring under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
