Chief Ojuko’s political DNA runs deep. The son of late Chief R.S. Ojuko, a towering grassroots political figure in his own right, Jide Ojuko inherited more than a name—he inherited a mission.

“My path to politics was inherent,” he once said. “The zeal for human and infrastructural development of my state—and by extension Nigeria—has always driven me.”

With a political career spanning several decades, Ojuko has cemented his name as a powerbroker in Ogun State politics. From commissioner-level appointments to party leadership roles, he remains the go-to elder statesman for aspirants and incumbents alike.

Born on May 15, 1951, in Ota, Chief Ojuko’s education journey began at Ansar-ud-Deen Primary School (1956–1962), followed by Iganmode Grammar School, Muslim College Ijebu-Ode, and finally the University of Ibadan, where he graduated in 1974.

Chief Ojuko has been a loyal player in Nigeria’s shifting political tides, with stints as Secretary of the defunct Peoples Solidarity Party (PSP), State Secretary of Social Democratic Party (SDP), prominent and influential member of agelong Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN)
