As part of its core objectives, a prominent Non-Governmental Organisation, The Omooba Obaruwa Foundation, Wednesday, awarded cash prizes and education items to the pupils of Ogbogbo Primary School, in Ijebu North East Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Founded by Omooba Adekunle Adebayo Ayoola, the Foundation had embarked on several humanitarian activities within and without Ijebuland.
Handing over the items at Ogbogbo Primary School, the chairman of the Foundation, Babatunde maintained that its activities are not for political purposes.
He added that the founder of the Foundation never intended it for personal gratification, declaring that “all is for sincere passion developed by the founder himself, Omooba Adekunle Adebayo Ayoola”.
In his address, the headteacher of the school, Mr Talabi thanked the Foundation for the gesture and urged the pupils to emulate the good habit of giving to the needy.
He encouraged them to put more effort into their studies adding that some pupils of the school now in the secondary school had been awarded scholarships.
Dignitaries present at the occasion were Chief Idowu Ogundipe, Ololu Idagunren who represented Baale of Ogbogbo; Chief Abayomi Otulagun; Ololu Tamaya; High Chief Ademola Adegbesan, Kakanfo of Ijebu Mushin; Chief Segun Onakoya; Chief Jimoh Adenuga, Ogbogbo Chief Priest.
Others were Mrs Adedayo Ogunlaja and Mrs Olusola Oyemade-Oresanya.
