Oba Lawal who welcomed them back to the fold in company of his chiefs and other members of the Ewumi-Abisogun family expressed delight at the steps taken by the aggrieved family members
The Oniru of Iruland, Oba Gbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II, has restated his commitment to an all-inclusive kingship for the continued unity, prosperity and growth of Iru Kingdom.
Oba Gbolahan Lawal restated this while welcoming a faction of the Abisogun ruling House who were aggrieved over his installation as the 16th Oniru or Iruland on the 20th of June, 2020.
Members of the aggrieved faction; Omowunmi-Abisogun branch led by Alhaja Afusat Kabiawu had trooped to the Oniru’s palace in Victoria Island to reconcile with the King and accept him as their ruler.
Oba Lawal who welcomed them back to the fold in company of his chiefs and other members of the Ewumi-Abisogun family expressed delight at the steps taken by the aggrieved family members.
He directed that all their entitlements as members of the Oniru royal family should be given to them.
Recall that following Oba Lawal’s emergence as the 16th Oniru on June 20, 2020, the Omowunmi Family of Abisogun ruling house had challenged Oba Lawal who is from Ewunmi faction of the family in court, saying that their faction was more suitable for the Iru stool.
But speaking at a reconciliation meeting on Sunday, the counsel to the Omowunmi-Abisogun Family, Mr Monsur Babatunde-Dauda, said that the family had come together to reconcile with the monarch, having observed the all-inclusive leadership style of Oba Lawal.
Babatunde-Dauda said that the family was in the palace to make peace with the monarch and other members of the ruling houses who had come together with Oba Lawal to take Iru to the greater heights.
He said: “We are ready to withdraw the case against the throne and we appealed to other aggrieved members to drop the case against the monarch. This is the first step in the reconciliation process.
“All members of the Omowunmi Abisogun are in support of Oba Lawal. We are ready to join hands together for the good of Iru Kingdom.”
On her part, the Head of the Abisogun Royal Family, Alhaji Afusat Kabiawu said that all the ruling houses are one united family, adding that there is no more disagreement over the stool.
She said that the entire members of the family will work together for the development of the Kingdom.
