Ojora, the Otunba of Lagos and Lisa of Ile-Ife, died on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, after a brief illness at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos. He was 93 years old.

Widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential boardroom figures, Ojora occupied a rare space where royal lineage, corporate authority, and understated leadership converged. His passing marks the end of an era for Nigeria’s elite business establishment.

Born into the illustrious Ojora and Adele royal families of Lagos, Otunba Ojora was a prince whose reach extended far beyond inherited titles. Following the death of Oba Adeyinka Oyekan in 2003, he was once close to ascending the throne of Lagos.
