Prince Taiwo Oyekan’s N20m Economic Empowerment Program to Hold on December 19

The purpose of his series of empowerment schemes in the local government is to complement the efforts of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Lagos State and President Bola Tinubu’s initiatives in poverty alleviation

Prince Taiwo Ajibade Oyekan, the deputy leader of the Lagos Island Local Government is set to hold a multimillion-naira economic empowerment initiative on Thursday, December 19, 2024.

The Taiwo Oyekan Megaplus Economic Empowerment Program, with a budget of twenty million naira (N20,000,000), aims to support the residents of Lagos Island and surrounding areas in response to the ongoing economic challenges in the country.

Activities planned for this humanitarian event include the disbursement of twenty million naira to residents, the distribution of bags of rice and filled gas cylinders, and the presentation of a patrol vehicle to the Nigeria Police Force, among other initiatives. The event will be held at the Ilupesi Event Centre, located on Enu Owa Street, Isale Eko, Lagos Island.

In a discussion with newsheadline247, Hon. Oyekan explained that the purpose of his series of empowerment schemes in the local government is to complement the efforts of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Lagos State and President Bola Tinubu’s initiatives in poverty alleviation and the ongoing provision of security for lives and property.

Oyekan, a respected prince of the Lagos royal dynasty, is well-known for his selfless service to humanity. He has sponsored and implemented successful empowerment programs including medical support, scholarships for underprivileged students, skill acquisition for youths, sponsored sports and entertainment for young people, and also extended financial and medical assistance to the elderly and physically challenged residents, among various other personally financed initiatives.
