Senator Adeola ‘Yayi’ Has Fulfilled His Covenant With Ogun West People – Adeniji

The Senator representing Ogun West at the National Assembly, Solomon Adeola, has been commended for fulfilling his pact with his constituents.

It will be recalled that during the electioneering season, Senator Adeola swore to uphold the promises contained in a manifesto document which he christened ‘My Covenant With Ogun West’.

Giving the commendation over the weekend in an interactive parley with selected journalists, the Convener, Ogun West Initiative, Mr. Bolaji Adeniji, said the Senator has fulfilled his campaign promises less than two years into his current mandate.

In his words, “Let me use this opportunity to commend our senator who we fondly call YAYI for keeping faith to his electoral promises. Many politicians make commitments and do not fulfill them; either out of dishonesty or outright lack of capacity”.

“Ogun Westerners received with cautious optimism, the lavish promises in his legislative agenda tagged FECSTEP which includes functional office, engagements, cooperation, scholarships, targeted bills, empowerment and project facilitation. But in less than two years, he has not only met the target, the volume of intervention in each of those pillars is unprecedented “.

Adeniji also praised Senator Adeola for changing the narratives that public office holders seek only after themselves and not the people.

According to him, “Senator Adeola representation is a paradigm shift in leadership, which is now engendering trust and returning confidence in public office occupiers. Just last month almost 100 multidimensional projects which he facilitated were commissioned across the five local governments of the district. These are aside other economic empowerment and social support programmes being concurrently implemented“.

The OWI convener urged the Senator to keep up the tempo while advising the people to rally round him.

He added, “While we have no doubt about his intentions and capacity, we urge him to continue keeping faith with the covenant he made with us.  The people are happy and are behind him. They will rally all necessary support to ensure he continues to deliver the dividends of the trust they gave him to represent us at the senate”. Read More
