APC Ogun spokesman Femi Nuberu admits he can’t speak on Senator Gbenga Daniel without “employers’ clearance,” fueling outrage

Shocking Admission: Ogun APC Spokesman Confesses He Needs Party Leaders’ Clearance to Speak on OGD’s Performance at NASS
The Ogun State spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Nuberu, has come under heavy criticism after openly admitting on live radio that he cannot speak freely without authorization from his political “employers.”
Nuberu, who appeared on Eagles FM on Monday amid controversy over the alleged suspension of former Governor and current senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD), stunned listeners with his candid confession that his voice is controlled by party leadership.

Pressed by anchor Kunle Balogun to assess Senator Daniel’s performance at the National Assembly, Nuberu sidestepped the question and replied bluntly, saying, “Do you know that discussing what the leadership has not sent me to discuss could even amount to anti-party? Or will you be the one to pay my salary if they sack me?”
The remark has been widely interpreted as confirmation that APC officials in Ogun operate under a gag order, with loyalty tied strictly to Governor Dapo Abiodun’s camp.

Observers noted the irony when Nuberu, moments later, fiercely defended Governor Abiodun after a caller accused him of neglecting Ijebu communities. Unlike his refusal to speak on Daniel, he swiftly rose to the governor’s defence—drawing accusations of selective loyalty.
The inconsistency prompted the show’s host to rebuke Nuberu on air, questioning why he needed clearance to evaluate OGD but had no hesitation defending the governor.
Political analysts say the incident further highlights the growing cracks within the Ogun APC, where internal control, loyalty battles, and political vendettas continue to undermine unity. Read More
