President Bola Tinubu has ordered defence and security chiefs to track, apprehend, and prosecute perpetrators of the deadly Kasuwan Daji terrorist attack in Niger State

Tinubu Orders Massive Manhunt for Kasuwan Daji Terrorists: “They Must Be Hunted Down”
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued strong directives to Nigeria’s top security brass to immediately track down, apprehend, and bring to justice the terrorists responsible for the brutal attack on Kasuwan Daji community in Niger State.
In a statement released on Sunday, the President condemned the killings of villagers and the abduction of women and children, describing the assailants—suspected to be terrorists fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara following a U.S. air strike on Christmas Eve—as having “tested the resolve of our country and its people.”
The President directed the Minister of Defence, Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, Inspector-General of Police, and Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to launch a relentless pursuit of the perpetrators and ensure their swift prosecution.
He further mandated security agencies to urgently rescue all abducted victims and step up operations in vulnerable communities, especially those bordering forests long used as hideouts by criminal elements.
“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must, therefore, face the full consequences of their criminal actions. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down. They, and all those who aid, abet, or enable them in any form, will be caught and brought to justice,” President Tinubu declared.
Expressing deep condolences to the bereaved families, the Niger State Government, and its people, the President assured residents that intensified security measures are already underway to protect at-risk areas.
He called on Nigerians to remain united and avoid divisive rhetoric that could weaken national resolve during this difficult time.
“These times demand our humanity. We must stand together as one people and confront these monsters in unison. United, we can and must defeat them, deny them any sanctuary. We must reclaim the peace and security of these attacked communities,” President Tinubu said.
The attack on Kasuwan Daji has heightened concerns over the movement of terrorist groups across state borders, prompting renewed calls for coordinated, multi-agency operations to restore lasting peace to affected regions. Read More
