WAEC 2026 WASSCE Results Released: How School Candidates Can Check Online
Thousands of candidates across Nigeria can now access their results after the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) officially released the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for School Candidates.
The examination body announced the release on Wednesday through its official X account, ending weeks of anticipation for about 1.96 million candidates who sat the examination in more than 24,200 secondary schools nationwide.
Candidates are expected to access their results through WAEC’s official online portal after generating a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and serial number on the council’s website. They will also be required to provide their examination number, the National Identification Number (NIN) used during registration and other registration details, including contact information, to complete the verification process.
The 2026 WASSCE was conducted between April 21 and June 19 using both the conventional paper-and-pencil format and the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) option. WAEC recorded increased adoption of the CBT format this year as more schools embraced the digital examination system.
The release of the results is in line with WAEC’s earlier assurance that candidates’ performance would be published approximately 45 days after the conclusion of the examination. It also comes after the council released the results of the 2026 First Series Computer-Based WASSCE for Private Candidates.
With the results now available, candidates are expected to begin checking their performance immediately through WAEC’s official result-checking platform as the next stage of admissions into tertiary institutions gathers momentum.
