Why I’ve not Assessed Tinubu’s Govt – Soyinka

Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka has asked Nigerians not to impose their timeline on him regarding his assessment of President Bola Tinubu’s government.

He stated that he would speak on the administration when he feels he has something meaningful to say.

“People should stop trying to dictate my schedule,” the nonagenarian cautioned those urging him to fulfill his earlier promise to evaluate Tinubu’s administration after its first year in office, which will be completed on May 29, 2024.

“I did not set an alarm clock,” Soyinka said during an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief program on Monday. “I don’t see why I should rush to say: ‘One year has passed; now I must make an assessment’ if there is nothing significant I want to discuss and if I am occupied with other matters.”
