The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has criticised the timing of the implementation of the naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), saying it has exposed Nigerian masses to avoidable suffering and put everyone under pressure.

He however said the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, would defy the odds to emerge President-elect after Saturday’s polls, adding that Nigerians won’t desert the party because of the ongoing cash crunch.

Adamu who spoke while fielding questions from political editors in Abuja on Wednesday night, said both him and his party do not have anything against the policy in principle, saying the CBN decision was for the good of the country.

He however disagreed with the fact that the ruling party was not consulted before it was implemented at a bad time for everybody.
