Nollywood actor Yomi Fash-Lanso has announced plans for the third edition of FAAJI-LAWA EXTRA, promising an enhanced entertainment experience centred on classic Nigerian music, nostalgia and the sounds that defined an era.

Fash-Lanso, convener of FAAJI-LAWA with Yomi Fash-Lanso, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Lukman Omikunle, saying preparations were underway for the December 2026 event, which is expected to attract music lovers from across Nigeria and members of the diaspora returning home for the festive season.

According to the actor, the forthcoming edition has been carefully planned to deliver a richer experience, building on previous editions with a broader range of entertainment activities.

He described the event as an opportunity to reconnect audiences with the enduring appeal of old-school Nigerian music and recreate the atmosphere associated with the country’s musical heritage.

“The show is designed to reignite the memories of the past, bringing back the good old days and the beauty of music and entertainment of the past,” Fash-Lanso said.

He explained that FAAJI-LAWA was conceived to celebrate classic songs by legendary Nigerian musicians, particularly those from the South-West, whose music continues to resonate with audiences across generations.

Fash-Lanso said the initiative goes beyond listening to old records, adding that its broader objective is to use music as a means of creating shared experiences, preserving cultural memories and fostering a warm, engaging atmosphere among attendees.

“The whole idea is to create nostalgic memories and weave entertainment around it,” he said.

The actor also expressed the belief that many songs from earlier generations contain valuable lessons that remain relevant today. According to him, the messages embedded in the lyrics of classic Nigerian music can inspire positive relationships and encourage a more harmonious social environment.

He stressed that FAAJI-LAWA is designed for audiences of all ages, bringing younger music enthusiasts together with older generations who grew up listening to the celebrated musicians whose works continue to shape Nigeria’s entertainment heritage.

The third edition, billed as FAAJI-LAWA EXTRA with Yomi Fash-Lanso, is scheduled for December 2026. The organisers are looking to attract a wider audience, including Nigerians living abroad who plan to return home for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

With its emphasis on timeless Nigerian music, cultural nostalgia and intergenerational entertainment, the event is positioning itself as a festive-season gathering for lovers of classic sounds and the memories associated with them.

According to Fash-Lanso, details of the event’s venue, date and line-up of performers will be announced in due course.
