The Minister of State of Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has slammed former VP Atiku Abubakar, for refusing to congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari after the Supreme Court verdict on his (Atiku) appeal.

Atiku, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 23 presidential election, had approached the apex court to challenge the decision of the presidential election tribunal.

The Supreme Court led by Justice Tanko Mohammad, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), had on Wednesday unanimously dismissed Atiku’s appeal challenging Presidential Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at presidential.

In reaction to the verdict, Atiku, who described himself as a Democrat in a statement, said the Supreme Court had been undermined and rendered ineffective as part of Buhari’s alleged repressive tactics.

But Keyamo via his verified handle described Atiku’s statement as “the hallmark of a bad loser,” saying that “a man who claims to be a democrat refuses to congratulate the winner of an election, even after highest court affirmed it.”

“A man who claims to be a democrat refuses to congratulate the winner of an election, even after highest court affirmed it. Rather, he takes a swipe at ALL democratic institutions. That’s the hallmark of a bad loser. It appears the DUBAI STRATEGY turned out to be the DUBAI TRAGEDY,” Keyamo wrote.
