The Olota of Otta, Oba (Professor) Adeyemi Obalanlege (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode) has said that Otta, has a town with rich history, culture and tradition occupies important position in the ecosystem of Ogun State and Nigeria.

This was hinged on the large scale of industrialisation and massive commercial activities that has enveloped the ancient town over the years.

The revered Awori monarch expressed this on Wednesday during the press conference on the 2021 “Odun Omo Iganmode Afeleja” cultural festival, held at Oba Isiyemi Hall, Olota Palace, Otta, Ogun State.

Odun Omo Iganmode Afeleja is the biggest cultural festival of Aworiland. This year’s edition comes with the theme; “Culture: A Module For Sustainable Leadership In Nigeria.”

While commending the organizers of the much-anticipated festival, Kabiyesi Obalanlege noted that “This year’s theme is more apposite. As sons and daughters of Otta, l must say that from birth, we have imbibed the right cultural values and morals needed in all spheres of life.”

“Again, as a people, the cultural heritage we inherited from our forefathers. This has also helped in our determination to ensure the massive socio-cultural and infrastructural development that we have now witnessed across our sub-ethnic nationality since I assumed office as the Olota.

“More importantly, you will all agree with me that, Otta Kingdom occupies a very important place in the ecosystem of the State and the country, especially as the Industrial nerve-centre of the economy.

“That we are the Geese that lay the Golden Egg is not unconnected with our history,” Olota stated.

The entire people of Ota, Aworiland, is currently in top gear preparing for the ancient town’s biggest cultural fiesta – the “Odun Omo Iganmode Afeleja” festival which is slated to kick off on 13th of December 2021. The festival promises an unprecedented display of Awori cultural values and ethics.
