The All Progressives Congress candidate for the Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, High Chief Olanrewaju Bashorun, popularly known as LarryBash, has promised constituents a more effective and robust representation at the National Assembly if elected.

Bashorun made the commitment on Saturday, October 3, 2026, during the inauguration of 485 community leaders drawn from the 485 polling units across Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, as part of efforts to strengthen the APC’s grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

The inauguration brought together APC leaders, community stakeholders, party executives and supporters, with speakers at the event stressing the importance of building an effective political structure that reaches residents at the polling-unit level.

Addressing the gathering, Bashorun, the Seriki of Ota, Aworiland, said the constituency deserved representation that would remain connected to the people and respond effectively to their needs.

He said his aspiration was not merely to occupy a seat in the House of Representatives but to provide representation that would make a measurable difference in the lives of constituents.

According to him, the newly inaugurated community leaders have a critical role to play in taking the message of the APC to every ward, polling unit, street and household across the local government.

Bashorun charged the community leaders to mobilise eligible voters in their respective communities and encourage them to participate fully in the elections.

He specifically urged them to ensure that residents come out massively on election days to vote for all APC candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, and other candidates of the party.

The APC candidate stressed that the party’s success in the 2027 elections would depend largely on effective grassroots mobilisation, urging the newly inaugurated leaders to maintain close contact with residents and ensure that no eligible voter was left behind.

He said, “Our responsibility is to connect with our people at the grassroots, mobilise them and ensure that they understand the importance of participating in the electoral process. Every household matters, every polling unit matters and every vote matters.”

Bashorun also assured constituents that, if elected, he would work to provide a representation that would prioritise the interests of Ado-Odo/Ota and ensure that the constituency received adequate attention at the federal level.

He said the people should expect a representative who would be accessible, responsive and committed to attracting meaningful development to the constituency.

Also speaking at the event, the Olotu of Ota and Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Political Matters, Chief Jide Ojuko, urged residents of Ado-Odo/Ota to turn out in large numbers to exercise their civic responsibility during the elections.

Ojuko noted that Ado-Odo/Ota is one of the local government areas in Ogun State with a large number of registered voters, stressing that such electoral strength should be translated into massive voter participation.

He called on Community Development Associations across the local government to mobilise their members and residents to participate actively in the electoral process and support the APC candidates.

Ojuko challenged the community structures to work towards delivering at least 300,000 votes for the party, while emphasising the importance of coordinated grassroots mobilisation.

He also urged APC supporters not to be swayed by inducements or last-minute attempts by political opponents to persuade them to abandon the candidates they had chosen.

Using a humorous analogy, Ojuko said politicians who secure the people’s votes should not disappear after assuming office. His message, he explained, was that elected representatives must remain accessible and accountable to the people who entrusted them with political authority.

Earlier, one of the organisers, Hon. Odunlami Muritala, welcomed guests and party stakeholders to the event and acknowledged Bashorun as the Seriki of Ota Land and a prominent figure in the APC structure within the Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency.

Muritala said the inauguration formed part of a broader grassroots mobilisation strategy and was not the first exercise of its kind.

According to him, 655 persons had previously been inaugurated under a similar initiative, while another 485 community leaders were being inaugurated at the latest event, describing the development as part of an expanding grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Chairman of the Ado-Odo/Ota APC, Hon. J.J. Akeran, also addressed the gathering, acknowledging party leaders, community stakeholders and executives who attended the programme.

Among those recognised were the Ado-Odo/Ota LG Chairman, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu (FCA), Chief Aiyedogbon, Chief Jide Ojuko, Alhaja Sahadat Onimole and Alhaja Mistura Junaid alongside other party and community leaders.

Akeran emphasised the importance of keeping political promises and honouring commitments made to the electorate.

He also highlighted development projects associated with the Ogun State APC governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, particularly road construction, noting that some of the roads completed under his watch were projects many residents had previously considered unlikely.

The APC chairman challenged whoever succeeds Adeola as Ogun West Senator to either surpass his achievements or build on the foundation he has established.

Also present at the event were Mr Oshina Owolaokun, Vice Chairman of the Ado-Odo/Ota Zonal Local Government Community Development, and Eda Bisi Akanbi, the Public Relations Officer of the Ado-Odo/Ota Zonal Local Government Community Development, among other community and political stakeholders.

The event ended with renewed calls for stronger grassroots mobilisation, increased voter participation and sustained engagement between community leaders and residents ahead of the 2027 elections.

The inauguration of the 485 polling-unit community leaders represents another step in LarryBash’s effort to deepen his connection and also position APC for a strong showing in the forthcoming elections.
