There are reports indicating that the outgoing governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun may have initiated steps to avoid handing over to his successor, Dapo Abiodun.
Incoming Governor Abiodun is billed to take over from Amosun on the 29th of May.
But according to reports observed from societynow.ng, Amosun has reportedly put in place plans to travel out of the country ahead of the handover date.
‘’He is travelling out of the country for lesser Hajj and returns next week, after the inauguration of the new governor,’’ the report stated.
It was also gathered that outgoing governor’s travelling schedule was slated for either May 26 May 27.
Newsheadline247 understands Amosun who succeeded Otunba Gbenga Daniel in 2011 had detailed Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Olaoluwa to officially handover Abiodun as the new governor of Ogun state on May 29.
This development is on the heels futile but intense fight by Amosun to stop Abiodun from becoming his successor.
Since he failed in the bid to make his preferred candidate – Abiodun Akinlade – his successor, Amosun has been accused of putting in place financial landmines that would make governance an ordeal for the incoming governor Abiodun.
