The Olota of Ota, Oba Prof. Adeyemi Obalanlege has called for the attention of the Minister for Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola over the deplorable state of roads in Ota, Ogun State.
The Awori monarch, via a telephone chat, sought for urgent intervention on the roads which have over the years flattened the curve of commercial and economic activities in the entire Ado-Odo/Ota local government area.
Ado-Odo/Ota local government, the commercial nerve of Ogun State, is one of Nigeria’s most industrialized councils but has remained underdeveloped following neglect by previous governments.
Newsheadline247, however, understands all the roads which are in a state of disrepair in the local government will get immediate attention following talks between Oba Adeyemi and Mr. Fashola.
Confirming this, the Personal Assistant to Olota of Ota, Prince Olusesi Adeyemi Sulaimon, informed that Olota, while speaking with Mr. Fashola, lamented the untold hardship his people have been subjected to due to bad roads across his domain
The revered monarch while speaking with the minister said almost all businesses are in comatose as commercial activities were paralyzed as a result of collapsed roads.
Some of the terrible roads listed for urgent attention are Sango-Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta road, Sango Ota-Ijoko road, Ota-Owode Idiroko road, Atan Agbara Igbesa road among others.
According to Olusesi, Mr. Fashola assured Olota that work on the roads would start soon adding that assessments had earlier been carried out.
The minister further pointed out that Olota’s ‘save our souls’ call will propel his ministry to swing into action almost immediately.
