The Olota of Otta, Oba Prof. AbdulKabir Adeyemi Obalanlege on Thursday led a delegate of Olota-in-Council and other Awori monarchs in a condolence visit to the Deinde family over the death of the pioneer Chairman of Ado-Odo/Otta Local Government, Pa Nasirudeen Deinde.
While commiserating with the Deinde family, Oba Obalanlege described the late patriarch as a selfless visionary leader with total sincerity of purpose.
“The kingdom has lost a rare gem, a loyal and dedicated son of Awori whose contributions to the sustenance of our values as people cannot be overemphasized.
“May Allah give the family and the good people of Awori Kingdom at large the fortitude to bear the loss,” Olota said.
Oba Obalanlege was accompanied by a delegate of Olota-in-Council which include the Oluwo Itoki of Otta, High Chief Ganiu Dada, and the Lisa of Otta, High Chief Dayo Eleku.
Other traditional rulers in his entourage during the visit were, Oba Abdulwasiu Ogunbayi, the Onitetiku of Owode-Otta, Aworiland, the newly crowned Oba Oba Olabode Thomas-Fagbayi, the Onitigbo of Tigbo Ilu, Aworiland, and Chief Segun Johnson, the Otunba of Otta.
Late Pa Nasirudeen Deinde, the first Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chairman, passed on at his Sango-Otta home August 29, 2020, after a brief illness aged 85.
He is survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
