Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has raised concern over multiple deaths recorded so far during ongoing nationwide #EndSARS protest after the movement has been infiltrated by hoodlums.
He made the statement via a series of Tweet posts on Tuesday.
Atiku, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 presidential election, insisted the #EndSARS peaceful protesters are not ‘unreasonable’ saying ‘they mean well and acted responsibly.’
He, however, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to address the nation and the Nigerian youths in particular.

“I am saddened by the loss of lives following the infiltration of hoodlums in the #EndSARS peaceful protests. My appeal to the government of @MBuhari is that he must not succumb to the temptation to use further maximum force on #EndSARS protesters,” Atiku said.
He stated further that; “The #EndSARS protesters are not unreasonable; they mean well and acted responsibly.
“This is the time to appeal to their reason by speedily implementing their reasonable demands. The use of maximum force will aggravate, rather than placate.
“When government shows that it cares, the citizens will farewell. Now is the time to apply reason, rather than brute force. And on that basis, I urge @MBuhari to talk to the nation, and particularly the youth of Nigeria.”
