The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on Friday, announced that fifty-three suspects have been arrested in connection with the looting at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camp in Kubwa, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The nation’s police chief made this known during an inspection tour of the camp with the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim.

The NYSC DG, however, reiterated that the camp was not housing any palliative.

According to Ibrahim, what were looted were kits and mattresses for the Corp members who were billed to resume in two weeks.

He, however, added that some of the youths have voluntarily returned what they looted.

The looting of the Youth Corp orientation camp occurred in the wake of series of looting incidents across the country in the past couple of days after miscreants hijacked the #EndSARS protests.

The Kubwa Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Abuja, had said some of the rampaging hoodlums who looted the NYSC Camp in the town attacked and almost stabbed while trying to protect the facility.
