Kwara United FC of Ilorin and Kano Pillars FC of Kano are the top teams battling for the top spot on the table of the current season of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), as mid-season break gets underway after match day Week 19.
The two teams are both on 33 points and are respectively 2nd and 3rd on the log, same points with Akwa United FC who are top with a superior goal difference
However, either Kwara United or Kano Pillars could go top after today’s games as they both have the advantage of playing their matches at home, hosting Nasarawa United and Warri Wolves respectively
In other matches today, MFM FC battle for survival against FC Ifeanyi Ubah in Agege Township Stadium.
Lobi Stars host Jigawa Golden Stars in Makurdi, Dakkada FC slug it out with Rivers United in Uyo, Wikki Tourists entertain Katsina United in Bauchi. The match between Rangers International and Enyimba FC has been postponed due to the latter’s continental engagement
Tomorrow will see Abia Warriors play host to Plateau United and Heartland FC welcome the bottom team Adamawa United to Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
