Pockets of fights are rocking Ogun West – on the social media space, according to SocietyNow NG.
Reports said Senator Adeola, who has been named as “Aremo Yewa” by the paramount ruler of Yewaland – the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, is receiving knocks from some indigenes of Yewaland not pleased with the choice of the Lagos based politician.

There are talks that the plan to become a Senator in Ogun state after holding multiple elective positions in Lagos state – including 12years as a State House of Assembly member, 4years as a House Representatives member, and on his second term as a Senator – is part of agenda to become the Governor of Ogun state.
The claim in the raging fights on social media is that the Aremo of Yewaland chieftaincy title from a king of the Olu of Ilaro’s standing is part of attempts to give Yayi’s political ambition and claims – which his opponents dispute – that he is from Yewa legitimacy.
It is, however, to the Senator’s credit that he has built such a solid political structure in Ogun over the years that played a major role in the emergence of incumbent Dapo Abiodun as Governor.
And his loyalists occupy key positions in the Abiodun government as well as control the structure of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.
The checks by societynow.ng revealed that even the fact that Olu of Ilaro explained that Senator Yayi and others chosen for recognitions with chieftaincy titles were “were carefully selected by the Yewa Obas on the basis of their outstanding contributions to the socio-economic development of Yewaland and mankind in general” has not lessened growing social media fights over the inclusion of the Lagos Senator.
Attempts by others to either defend the choice of the Lagos Senator or supremacy of the paramount ruler in making the decision is the direct cause of the raging online fights among the people of Yewa- and sympathizers of different sides across the state.
The situation has degenerated to such a point that popular pressure group Ogun West Liberation Movement (OWELIM) publicly disowned another association Ogun West Liberation Forum and publicly chided those casting aspersion on the Olu of Ilaro in kicking against the choice of Senator Yayi as the Aremo of Yewaland.
OWELIM in a statement signed by Taiwo Rasheed Faluyi (Chairman) and Kehinde Akinlade (Secretary), however, pointed out that it “has never been attached to anyone’s apron string, politician or otherwise ..”
Aside from Senator Adeola and his wife Temitope who is named Yeye Aremo, others recognized with chieftaincy titles by the paramount ruler of Yewaland are Akeem Adigun ( Socopao) as Apagunpote of Yewaland., former deputy governor Salimot Badru -Beere of Yewaland, Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun ( IBD Dende) – Oluomo of Yewaland, Dele Oderinde- the Tayese of Yewaland, Adewale Adesina ( Saranda) as Babaloja of Yewaland, and Akinsowon as Majeobaje of Yewaland.
