“The data presented on drug use in the country was disturbing and depressing”
The deputy governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has pledged her support for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on its anti-drug advocacy in the state as she expressed concern about the data presented on drug use in the country.
The recently deployed State Commander of NDLEA, CN Ibiba Jane Odili and her team, on Wednesday, paid the deputy governor a courtesy visit and briefed her on their activities in the State.
Mrs Salako-Oyedele who welcomed the anti-drug agency team to her Okemosan office in Abeokuta, the state capital, commended the agency’s efforts in tackling this problem by employing various strategies including supply reduction, drug demand reduction, treatment of addicts, aftercare and reintegration
“The data presented on drug use in the country was disturbing and depressing,” Mrs Salako Oyedele said. “I commended the Agency’s efforts in tackling this problem by employing various strategies including supply reduction, drug demand reduction, treatment of addicts, aftercare and reintegration.
“I pledged my support for their advocacy efforts especially with youths and women who are the most vulnerable groups.”
