Against continuous merciless killings by Fulani herdsmen across the country, Nigerians in the United Kingdom on Monday stormed the high commission in London to protest ‘bloodthirsty Fulani herdsmen.’
The protesters were armed with banners which read ‘stop bloodthirsty Fulani herdsmen now’, ‘they can’t kill us all.’
They also chanted, ‘Buhari must go’, ‘Buhari enough is enough’.
According to reports monitored on The Cable NG, one of the protesters simply identified as Chidikali said they do not want the establishment of cattle colonies.
He wondered how the federal government would establish a colony for persons that are referred to as “foreigners”.
Chidikali said: “This is the London anti-herdsmen protest. The message is sound, precise and clear. We do not want the expansion of Fulani herdsmen into Nigeria.
“Buhari’s government say they are foreigners, how can Buhari and his government build colony for foreigners. That is ludicrous.”
George Adesola Oguntade, the Nigerian high commissioner to London, did not come out to speak with the protesters.
The government has proposed the establishment of cattle colonies as a means to stop the clashes between the herdsmen and farmers.
Audu Ogbeh, minister of agriculture, said the establishment of cattle colonies in the country will commence this week in the interested states.
