The former speaker of the Federal House of Representatives and current Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, recently unveiled several significant legacy projects in his constituency in Lagos State.

These projects were commissioned on January 2nd and 3rd, 2024, with the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, presiding over the official ceremonies.

Notable among the commendable projects are the Femi Gbajabiamila Conference Centre at the Lagos State University, the Dualized Babs Animashaun Road and Census Bridge in Surulere, the Sam Shonibare Community Development Centre in Surulere, and the Femi Gbajabiamila General Hospital on Iyun Road Off Funsho Williams Avenue, Surulere.

Additionally, on January 3rd, 2024, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abass, inaugurated the Femi Gbajabiamila Hall of Residence at the University of Lagos, Akoka. This modern hostel facility houses 484 beds and is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities.

Furthermore, Speaker Abass is set to commission several other projects, including the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Surulere Campus, Bode Thomas Police Station, the Femi Gbajabiamila Mini Stadium in Orile, and the reconstructed Randle Avenue, all in Surulere.

The speaker emphasized the importance of legislative representation and constituency projects in maintaining a functioning democracy, particularly in Nigeria’s representative system of government.
