Eight directors, 10 deputy directors, five assistant directors, two principal managers, and two senior managers were affected

Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has fired 40 staff members, mostly from the Development Finance Department (DFD), as part of the bank’s ongoing restructuring efforts.

Deputy directors and assistant directors were mostly affected with 22 from the DFD and the remaining 18 from the Medicals and Procurement Services Department.

Eight directors, 10 deputy directors, five assistant directors, two principal managers, and two senior managers were affected.

The Olayemi Cardoso-led Board of Governors appears to have initiated a series of actions resulting in 67 affected staff.

For the record, in the first round of dismissals, about 27 people from the Central Bank of Nigeria were let go, with most of them being directors.
