Alleged Fraud: Former Governor Yahaya Bello Granted Bail, Will Spend Christmas and New Year at Home

Bello is facing charges related to alleged fraud that occurred during his time in office as governor.

Former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has been released from the Kuje Minimum Custodial Centre in Abuja after meeting the bail conditions set by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court.

Bello is facing charges related to alleged fraud that occurred during his time in office as governor. With his release, he will be able to celebrate the Christmas and New Year holidays with family and friends.

Adamu Duza, spokesperson for the FCT Command of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), confirmed his release in a report by Vanguard.

“He (Yahaya Bello) has been released after meeting the bail conditions. He was released this [Friday] evening,” Duza stated.

He also noted that the Controller of NCoS FCT, Ajibogun Olatubosun, was present to oversee Bello’s release and ensure all necessary protocols were followed.
