Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Price by N30, Rolls Out CNG Truck Fleet

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a major price cut in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, reducing it from N850 to N820 per litre. The new rate takes effect from Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

The move is expected to bring some relief to consumers and stakeholders in the petroleum sector, amid rising concerns over fuel affordability and distribution challenges.

In a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, the refinery reaffirmed its commitment to national development and assured Nigerians of a consistent and uninterrupted fuel supply.

As part of its expansion into cleaner and more efficient energy logistics, the refinery will also begin the phased deployment of 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks for fuel distribution nationwide, starting August 15, 2025.

Industry observers say the move could help stabilize fuel prices, improve distribution efficiency, and accelerate Nigeria’s adoption of alternative fuel technologies.

STATEMENT ON THE REDUCTION IN EX-DEPOT PRICE OF PMS BY N30 BY DANGOTE REFINERY

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol, by N30.00, from N850 to N820 per litre, effective from 12th August 2025.

As part of our unwavering commitment to national development, Dangote Petroleum Refinery assures the public of a consistent and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products.

In line with our dedication to operational excellence and sustainable energy solutions, Dangote Petroleum Refinery will commence the phased deployment of 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks for fuel distribution across Nigeria, effective August 15, 2025.
