Ikenne, Ogun State — A heartwarming scene unfolded during Senator Gbenga Daniel’s Midterm Community Assessment and Review Tour in Ikenne Local Government Area, as a two-year-old girl became the surprise star of the event after she insisted on holding the APC flag to salute the former governor of Ogun State.

The touching moment occurred during the ongoing BATOGD Movement Midterm Review Tour across Ogun East Senatorial District, drawing smiles and applause from the large crowd of party supporters and community members.

According to eyewitnesses, the little girl’s determination to hold the party flag throughout the event captivated everyone present. “She refused to drop it,” one of the organisers said. “It was as if she understood the message of loyalty and hope that the tour represents.”

The organisers revealed that the girl attended the event with her mother, a dedicated party member, who showed up despite alleged attempts by some local executives to discourage attendance at programmes linked to Senator Daniel and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The mother, speaking after the event, expressed no regrets. “I brought my daughter because Senator Gbenga Daniel is a good humanitarian who loves mothers and children,” she said, praising the lawmaker’s support for women’s healthcare and scholarship initiatives for young people across Ogun East.

The Ikenne stop formed part of the senator’s nine-local-government-wide midterm tour, which has also covered Sagamu, Ijebu North East, and Ijebu East. The initiative focuses on community engagement, project assessment, and constituency feedback.

Participants commended Senator Daniel for his contributions to education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, noting that his inclusive leadership style continues to bridge the gap between government and the grassroots.

By the close of the event, the atmosphere turned festive with songs and cheers from party loyalists — but for many attendees, the image that lingered was that of the young girl waving the APC flag with pride and innocence. For the crowd in Ikenne, she became more than a child — she became a symbol of hope, faith, and continuity in the renewed vision of leadership that the BATOGD Movement represents. Read More
