Sen. Gbenga Daniel Delivers Projects, Empowers Residents During Ogun Waterside Tour
It was celebration beyond politics on Saturday, November 2, 2025, as the ancient coastal town of Abigi in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area came alive with excitement, music and colour during the Mid-Term Assessment and Constituency Review Tour of Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel (FNSE, FAEng) — the dynamic leader of the BAT-OGD Movement.
From sunrise, the sleepy riverside community transformed into a carnival of joy as thousands of residents trooped out to welcome their senator — a man many described as “the face of renewed hope in Ogun East.”
Draped in vibrant banners and chants of “OGD! OGD!!,” the atmosphere erupted when Senator Daniel’s convoy entered Abigi. Youths beat drums, women sang praise songs, and traditional rulers lined up to receive the distinguished senator who came, not with promises, but with projects and empowerment.

Under the banner of the BAT-OGD Movement Tour, the day was marked by the distribution of empowerment tools designed to transform livelihoods across the local government. Senator Daniel personally supervised the presentation of motorcycles, deep freezers, sewing machines, power generators, fertilizers, and agricultural equipment — all targeted at artisans, traders, and farmers.
There was also a free medical outreach, where residents received eye-care services, drugs, and treatments — a major relief for a community often underserved in healthcare access.
“This is not just about politics; this is about people,” Senator Daniel told the cheering crowd. “Every tool we deliver today is an investment in someone’s future — in Ogun Waterside’s future.”
The highlight of the tour was Senator Daniel’s inspection of the Nigerian Navy Forward Operational Base under construction in Abigi — a project he helped secure through his strong legislative and defence-sector networks.
Residents hailed the development as a “lifeline project” that promises to bring jobs, youth training and enhanced security to the region.
“For over 50 years, this land lay bare until Senator Gbenga Daniel intervened,” declared Oba (Barr.) Olusegun Ogunye, the Ojotumoro of Abigi, as the crowd roared in agreement.
Senator Daniel reassured community leaders and engineers on-site that the base would be completed on schedule, noting that the facility will “redefine security and economic opportunities in Ogun Waterside.”
Throughout the tour, Senator Daniel emphasized that the BAT-OGD Movement stands for leadership anchored on results, responsiveness and responsibility. He restated his commitment to aligning local development with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying partnership across all levels of government is the key to lasting progress.
“We must move beyond politics as usual,” he said. “What our people need are visible results — good roads, jobs, empowerment, and security. That is the message of the BAT-OGD Movement.”
The event closed in a festive atmosphere, as farmers, women, artisans, and youth leaders offered prayers of gratitude, dancing into the night in celebration of a day that brought real progress to their doorstep.
